Flight Centre Travel Group has appointed Emese Graham as diversity, equity and inclusion manager for the Americas, a role in which she will lead equity initiatives across the group’s corporate and leisure brands.

Graham, who has been with Flight Centre since 2018, most recently as a content manager, will be based in Toronto and start her new role on March 14. Among her initial goals will be to work with the travel management company’s teams on removing equity barriers both for employees and clients as well as the larger community.

“We’re going to give our teams the tools to have transformative conversations about race, colonialism, disability and gender,” Graham said in a statement. “These conversations need to happen in the travel industry.”

Graham already has been working on DEI initiatives within the company, including designing workshops, developing a reference guide to ensure anti-racist language in product copy, making social media communication accessible to people with visual impairments and giving more representation to people of color, plus-sized people, disabled people and LGBTQ+ people in customer-facing roles, according to Flight Centre.
