Air China Posted First-Half Net Loss as Travel Restrictions Weighed

Air China Ltd. reported a net loss in the first half amid widened travel lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The airline swung to a loss of 9.44 billion yuan ($1.38 billion) from a profit of CNY3.14 billion in the same period a year ealier, it said late Friday.

Revenue in the first half declined to CNY29.65 billion from CNY65.31 billion a year earlier.

The airline will strive to restore operating performance to normal levels going forward, it said.
